Roberto’s motorsports journey began at age eight, when he first took to the track in go-karts. Growing up in his family’s car dealership, he developed a deep, hands-on understanding of automobiles and racing culture from an early age. His passion for competitive motorsports deepened as he worked with and observed his uncle’s SCCA racing team.

At sixteen, Roberto entered organized competition through SCCA autocross, progressing to road racing at eighteen. That same year, he built his first race car—a 1971 Alfa Romeo Spider prepared for E Production—and went on to campaign it for thirteen seasons in the SCCA E Production Championship, gaining extensive experience and race-craft over more than a decade of competition.

After a brief hiatus from racing, Roberto returned to autocross in 2022. In 2024, he made his full return to road racing in a 1998 Van Diemen RF98 Formula Ford, finishing second in the Midwestern Sports Car Club Formula Ford Championship. That year also included a start in a GTL-class Fiat 131 at the SCCA Majors June Sprints at Road America, followed by multiple vintage racing events at the same circuit. Among the highlights was a first-place finish at the VSCDA Ariens Art on Wheels event, marking a triumphant and competitive return to the sport.
